Photographer Aaron Huey kindly sent this photo to The Memory Hole for posting. It ran on the front page of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer on 20 Nov 2004. He notes:

I took this photo [19 Nov] at the funeral of Nathan Wood, Marine LCpl age 19, in Kirkland, WA. Nathan was killed Aug November 9 in Fallujah. His best friend, Garrett Ware, also a marine fighting in Fallujah, was injured and sent home with a purple heart. In this image Garrett hugs Nathan's father, at the funeral in Kirkland yesterday.
