>>> On September 16, 1963, in the midst of the civil rights movement, the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama, was bombed with dynamite. Four African American girls were killed. Three men were convicted of the crime, with KKK member Bobby Frank Cherry being the last (in 2002). At the link above is the surprisingly slim file that FBI headquarters kept on him.

Technical notes: This file was released on paper by the FBI on 24 May 2005 in response to FOIA request 1010748-000, filed by Russ Kick. According to the cover letter, 73 pages were reviewed and 67 were released.
